TPD assisting in Stillwater's OSU frat investigation

TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police detectives are assisting in the investigation of a series of sexual assaults allegedly committed by a former Oklahoma State University fraternity member against several other students, including one with local ties.

Detective Thomas Donnell was notified of the Stillwater Police Department’s investigation Monday evening.

Police in Stillwater began looking into the sexual assaults – allegedly committed by a former OSU FarmHouse frat student against other male students – after an anonymous email was sent to OSU’s newspaper. That email alleges the former frat member is responsible for more than 10 assaults on new members of the fraternity, according to the paper.

The assaults did not take place as part of a fraternity event or at the chapter’s frat house, but rather occurred in Tahlequah and in Stillwater, including on the OSU campus. A spokesman for FarmHouse has said the fraternity is assisting in the investigation, and the suspect is no longer affiliated with the group.

“During the course of their investigation, [Stillwater police] found out one alleged assault took place in Tahlequah,” said Brad Robertson, Tahlequah Police Department’s public information officer. “Apparently an OSU student came home for a holiday break and brought another student with him to Tahlequah. While the two were here, there was an alleged assault. The victim is the person from the Tahlequah area, and the suspect in this investigation is the person [the victim] brought home with him.”
