Dyson, Dotson hired as Tahlequah hoops coaches

Johnny Dyson and Pat Dotson were introduced as Tahlequah’s new basketball coaches on Thursday morning. Dyson will take over the girls program, while Dotson will head the boys basketball team.

Both Dyson and Dotson were assistant coaches at Tahlequah last season. Dyson was an assistant on Chad Walker’s staff, which led the Tahlequah girls to the state tournament. Dotson was Mike Leafgreen’s assistant for the Tigers.

Dyson, 36, is set to begin his first tenure as a varsity basketball head coach. This will be Dotson’s second head-coaching job in three years. He was at Hulbert for two seasons, his final year being the 2011-2012 campaign.

See Friday’s Tahlequah Daily Press for more on both hirings.
