Roff man charged with sexual battery, molestation

Ada — A Roff man was charged with several felonies this week after being accused of unwanted and inappropriate touching.

Theodore Baio, 74, Roff, was charged in Pontotoc County District Court with lewd molestation and two counts of sexual battery.

He was arrested Oct. 5 by Roff police on suspicion of lewd acts with a child under 16.

In court affidavits filed by Roff police, the alleged incidents occurred at a restaurant Baio owns in the 100 block of W. Main in Roff, known as Pie Man.

Two female employees, one under age 16 and another under age 18, accused Baio of groping their “female body parts” on several occasions while at the restaurant.

The employees said Baio was “a touchy kind of person” and would often hug his employees and grab their breasts and or touch them in the crotch area.

Baio is also currently charged with three counts of sexual battery in Coal County for an alleged incident which occurred in 2012 in the town of Tupelo. A woman there also accused Baio of unwanted and inappropriate touching.

Baio is due back in Pontotoc County District Court Nov. 20 for a status docket.
