Offensive lineman from Texas commits to Sooners

Oklahoma’s 2015 commitment list grew again Thursday evening. Lancaster, Texas, offensive lineman Dominique Hearne gave his verbal pledge to the Sooners.

Hearne, a three-star recruit, is Rivals.com’s 88th best player in Texas and the No. 41 guard in the country.

The 6-foot-4, 288-pound rising high school senior had received scholarship offers from Texas Tech, TCU, Oklahoma State, North Texas and Arizona State.

He made an official visit to Norman last week when the Sooners were conducting summer camps. Hearne did not participate, but he was able to watch the coaches in action.

The Sooners, who now have seven commitments for 2015, have picked up recruiting steam since the calendar flipped to June.

Four-star tailback Rodney Anderson of Katy, Texas, and four-star cornerback P.J. Mbanasor of Pflugerville, Texas, have also committed to OU in the last 10 days.

Verbal commitments are non-binding. Players cannot sign national letters of intent until February.
