Tulsa's Shane Coffey named associate head coach

TULSA — Tulsa head women's basketball coach Matilda Mossman has promoted Shane Coffey to associate head coach.

Mossman has also promoted Britney Brown to recruiting coordinator. The university announced each of the appointments on Tuesday.

Coffey and Brown have been with the program for two seasons, helping the Hurricane record 30 wins, claim the 2013 Conference USA tournament title and advance to the NCAA Championship for just the second time in program history.

Mossman says Coffey and Brown have played a major role in the resurgence of the women's basketball program at TU. Coffey has worked with the post players the last two seasons and will now work with the perimeter players. Mossman says Brown will now work solely with the point guards and will maintain all aspects of the recruiting process.
