Soroptimist accepting applications for two awards

TAHLEQUAH — Soroptimist WOA Applications

The Soroptimist International of Tahlequah is now accepting applications through Sunday, Dec. 15 for the Women’s Opportunity Award.

The Soroptimist Women’s Opportunity Awards give women the resources they need to improve their education, skills, and employment prospects.

Eligible applicants must be women who provide the primary financial support for their families, and who are enrolled in or have been accepted to a vocational/skills training program, or an undergraduate degree program.

If selected, the award amount is $700. To obtain an applicatio, call Melody DuVall at (918) 456-3860 or e-mail duvallstrans@att.net.

SI of Tahlequah Accepting Grant Applications

The Soroptimist International of Tahlequah is now accepting applications through Sunday, Dec. 1 for the Violet Richardson Award.

This award recognizes a young girl between the ages of 14 -17 who has demonstrated leadership or made a difference in their community or school through volunteer efforts. The award amount is $300 and is based solely on the applicant’s volunteer work and leadership qualities.
