Dinner theater opens this weekend

TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah Community Playhouse Inc.’s second play of its 40th season is “Blithe Spirit,” written by Noel Coward, and directed by Mike Phillips and Bryan Crittenden.

The play runs Friday to Sunday, Nov. 15-17 and Friday to Sunday, Nov. 22-24 at the Armory Municipal Center Auditorium, 100 N. Water Ave.

The play is about a fussy, cantankerous novelist who, though remarried, is haunted by the ghost of his late wife, Elvira, who is called up by a visiting medium, Madame Arcati. “Blithe Spirit” is a much-revived comedy classic and a delightful farce.

Tickets for the play are $25 for dinner and the show and $15 for show-only tickets. Reservations for the dinner theater must be made by Tuesday at 4 p.m. for that weekend’s show.

Special meals are available upon request. Catering provided by the Soul Shack. The menu consists of roast chicken, scalloped potatoes, glazed carrots, and apple spice cake. Doors open and dinner is served at 6:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and at 1 p.m. on Sunday. The show begins one hour after the dinner.

Show-only patrons should arrive no earlier than 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 1:30 p.m. on Sunday. The show begins at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Show-only tickets may be purchased at the door.

Show and show-only tickets can be purchased at A Bloom, Morris-Cragar Flowers, or from the website www.tcpok.com. For more information, call (918) 822-4440 or (918) 458-9406. Group rates are available.
