NSU to host Piano Festival and Young Artist Competition


TAHLEQUAH — The Department of Music at Northeastern State University is announcing its sixth annual Piano Festival and Young Artist Competition. This two-day event will take place Friday, Feb. 21 and Saturday, Feb. 22 at the Center for Performing Arts on the campus of NSU-Tahlequah.

Events include a piano recital by Juilliard School graduate and Loyola University professor, Brian Hsu Friday at 7 p.m., and masterclasses and a cash-awarded high school piano competition beginning Saturday at 10 a.m.

Since his debut as a teenager with the Philadelphia orchestra, Hsu has performed throughout the world and has won numerous international piano competitions. He is a graduate of the Juilliard School, Yale University, and the University of Michigan.
