Dr. Thomas Poole, director of jazz studies at Northeastern State University, has recently announced the lineup for the 2013-’14 Green Country Jazz Series.
Most shows in the series are held at the NSU Jazz Lab, 315 N. Muskogee Ave.
The series opens with a free concert by the NSU Jazz Ensemble on Sept. 30 at 7 p.m.
On Nov. 4, the series welcomes trombonist John Fedchock, who will perform with the NSU Jazz Ensemble. The concert is at 7 p.m. and admission is $5.
Fedchock will also perform with the ensemble on Nov. 3 at the Jazz Depot at 5 p.m. General admission is $15, and $10 for seniors and students. Children under 12 are admitted free.
The Jazz Depot is on the upper level of the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame, 111 E. First Street in Tulsa. Information on the concert is available at www.okjazz.org.
Jambalaya, an annual dinner and concert, is Jan. 31 at 6:30 p.m. and will feature trumpeter Al Hood. Couples may attend for $35 and individuals for $20.
Saxophonist Joel Frahm is the special guest for the 47th Annual Green Country Jazz Festival, which opens March 2 at 8 p.m. in the Jazz Lab with the Ninth Annual Judges Jam and moves to the NSU Center for the Performing Arts on March 3 for the 7 p.m. festival. Sunday admission is $5. Monday admission is $6 for students and $12 for the public.
The series concludes April 7 with a performance by pianist Scott McQuade with the NSU Jazz Ensemble at 7 p.m. Admission is $5. McQuade and the ensemble will also perform at the Jazz Depot on April 6. Tickets are $15; $10 for seniors and students. Children under 12 are admitted free.
