Reports save lives

Editor, Daily Press:
How about a collective pat on the back for radio, television stations and spotters for the excellent coverage of Wednesday’s severe weather.
At considerable personal danger to weather spotters and at a great cost in lost commercial revenue, the electronic media was at the top of its game.
Continuous reporting, even though the storms were not a threat to the immediate Tulsa area, shows an unselfish commitment to public safety. Tulsa’s radio and television newsrooms learned long ago that the more good information they can give, and the faster they can give it, actually reassures listeners and viewers.
Live, fast, severe-weather reports don’t scare people – they save lives.
