UKB excited about Macy’s news

TAHLEQUAH — Editor, Daily Press:

As chief of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma, I am excited about Macy’s distribution center coming to Owasso, Oklahoma. With 1,500 full- and part-time jobs available, and an additional 1,000 seasonal jobs, this should help many Northeastern Oklahoma residents in need of employment.

I am hopeful that some of the UKB tribal members that have been laid off work due to the temporary closing of the Keetoowah Cherokee Casino will be able to find work with Macy’s.

George Wickliffe, Chief

United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians in Oklahoma

The federal government should set the minimum wage across the board.
States should be allowed to raise their minimum wages, but not cities.
Both states and cities should be allowed to raise their minimum wages.
Cities should be allowed to raise their mimum wages, but not states.
There should be no minimum wage at all.
Undecided.
