Light entertainment at council

Readers' Forum

TAHLEQUAH — Editor, Daily Press:

I went before the city council Monday, Oct. 7, with a signed petition of everyone on our street, except two residents, who want a speed bump installed on our street.

It took one woman telling her life story and friends on the council (including the mayor) to get a veto on the bump. A council woman wanted a man’s house demolished, rather than give him repair time. Queen of the council did most of the talking, mostly negative replies.

For light entertainment, go sit in on a council meeting. If you go for a personal reason, be sure you have friends on the council or a life story to tell.

When re-election time comes again, we hope to make some replacements.
