An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday afternoon for a Cherokee County man charged with sexual battery.
Danny Joe Hodge Jr., 20, was charged with grabbing and kissing a woman on April 9 at a local business. The woman is an employee at the business. Tahlequah police were called to the store after the incident, but Hodge was not there.
The crime of sexual battery is punishable by imprisonment for up to 10 years.
Assistant District Attorney Angela Jones, who is prosecuting the case, has filed a second-page information, alleging Hodge has previous convictions for rape and second-degree rape. He received eight-year sentences on the charges.
Associate District Judge Mark Dobbins set a $30,000 bond on the arrest warrant.
In another case, Coty Dean Marrs, 18, was arrested Tuesday in Hulbert on a rape charge. Sheriff’s Investigator Becky Thompson’s probable cause affidavit states Marrs had sexual intercourse April 7 with a 13-year-old girl. The act was consensual, but the girl’s age would make it a rape.
The girl was attending a sleep over at a friend’s house at the time of the incident
Special District Judge Holli Chennault set a $10,000 bond for Marrs.
