Cherokee County commissioners on Monday approved a pair of plats for developments at Sparrow Hawk Village.
Charles Harra, representing the Light of Christ Community Church, showed the plats to the commissioners. District 1 Commissioner Doug Hubbard told Harra the roads in both areas will have to be built to county specifications and maintained by developers for five years before the county will accept them into its road system.
Board members also approved a contract for $288 with Simplex-Grinnell to monitor the fire alarm at the county fairgrounds.
A special meeting for Rural Water District 1, in the Norwood area, will be June 4 at 6:30 p.m. at the Norwood Fire Department. District 2 Commissioner Bobby Botts said the entire board and manager of the VFD have left their posts for various reasons, so the commissioners had to call the election.
Agreements were OK’d for Hubbard and crews to work on private property of J. Paul Simpson, Vonda Lee Simpson and Donald Kirk.
Monthly reports from the county clerk, health department and detention center were approved.
