A June 9 trial date was set Thursday for a Tahlequah man charged in three separate felony cases filed on the same day earlier this year.
Mark Alan French, 40, was set for trial on three cases pending against him since Feb. 21. The cases are among several on the June trial docket.
Chief District Judge Bruce Sewell set the trial date for French on charges of possession of a weapon on school property, two counts of feloniously pointing a firearm, two counts of assault and battery on a police officer, obstructing an officer, and attempted escape from detention.
He was bound over for trial on all of the charges March 12.
French is represented by local attorney Crystal Jackson. Assistant District Attorney David Pierce is prosecuting the cases.
Court records show French also has a “hold” on him for the U.S. Army.
In an unrelated matter, a first-degree murder trial opens Monday in Cherokee County District Court.
Robert Lee Smallen, 56, is charged with the July 2007 shooting death of Ronny Hall. Both men are from Muskogee.
Pierce is prosecuting the case. Rex Earl Starr represents Smallen.
