Cherokee County prosecutors filed charges Monday on a Muskogee man accused of feloniously pointing a firearm.
Jerrell Sturdy, 66, allegedly pointed a shotgun at Alisha Hembree and “A.R.” June 7. Sturdy is also charged with one count of reckless conduct with a firearm for, on the same day, firing the shotgun in close proximity to Hembree and “A.R.”
Court documents show that June 13, prosecutors charged Brandon K. Hembree, 19, with aggravated assault and battery for allegedly punching Sturdy in the face June 8, which caused Sturdy to suffer possible fractures. The counts against Sturdy for feloniously pointing a firearm are each punishable by one to 10 years in prison. Reckless conduct with a firearm is punishable by a fine of $50 to $500, imprisonment for 10 days to six months, or both.
