CHOUTEAU – A Locust Grove woman and her three children, traveling on U.S. Highway 412 in Mayes County, were hit Friday when another vehicle pulled into their path.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Harold Morgan, 47, of Pryor, was southbound on a county road when he pulled into the center median, failing to yield. His vehicle, a 1990 Ford Bronco, collided with the 2007 Chrysler SUV driven by Casey James, 31, of Locust Grove. James was traveling east.
James was transported by Mesta to Mayes County Medical Center in Pryor. She was treated and released with head, arm and leg injuries. Her 12-year-old son was also transported to Mayes County Medical Center in Pryor, and was treated and released with head injuries. A 10-year-old son and 2-year-old daughter were not injured, but were later taken by private vehicle to the MCMC for observation, and released.
Morgan was transported by Air Evac to St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa with internal and external trunk injuries, as well as head, arm and leg injuries. He was listed in serious condition, according to the OHP report.
Morgan was not wearing a seatbelt, the OHP said. All occupants in James’ vehicle were wearing the proper restraints, and air bags deployed in that vehicle.
