Local authorities have arrested an Oklahoma City man in connection with the armed robbery of a Tahlequah convenience store last Sunday.
Tahlequah Police Detective Lt. Dale Glory said Charles Hutton, Oklahoma City was arrested for the robbery and Steven Silva was booked as an accessory to the robbery.
Glory, Cherokee County Undersheriff Jason Chennault and TPD Detective Jeff Haney were involved in the investigation and arrests.
No one was injured in the robbery.
Glory said investigators started following up on leads that eventually led them to Hutton and Silva.
Glory said both men were arrested at 610 Russell. They allegedly robbed the Ray’s Hilltop Store on West Choctaw Sunday night.
Glory said Hutton and Silva, both 19, had allegedly planned the holdup and Silva drove the getaway car.
He said the suspects used the money taken from the store to pay their rent and to buy groceries.
Both men have given a statement to police.
Associate District Judge Mark Dobbins set appearance bonds of $25,000 on each suspect.
Formal charges are expected to be filed in district court.
Hutton and Silva will be formally arraigned after charges are filed.
