Published July 08, 2008 09:34 am - Area teens injured in crash Saturday night TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS — SALLISAW – Two Stilwell teenagers were admitted to hospitals for treatment after being in a crash at the junction of U.S. Highway 59 and State Highway 101 Saturday night.
Jake Duncan, 14, was taken by Life Flight to Presbyterian Hospital in Oklahoma City and admitted with arm injuries. Alyssa Gonzales, 14, was transported by Pafford EMS to St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa and admitted with head, trunk internal, trunk external, arm and leg injuries. Both were passengers in a 2002 Dodge pickup driven by Rick Duncan, 47. He was not injured. Leah Duncan, 36, was taken by Pafford to Sparks Hospital in Fort Smith and treated for head, trunk external and trunk internal injuries and released. Michelle Gonzales, 25, was transported from the scene to Sequoyah Memorial Hospital and treated for arm injuries and released. A fifth passenger in the Duncan vehicle, Taylee Shawney, 11 months, was not injured. Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports state Duncan was driving south on U.S. 59 when a 2006 Nissan Altima driven by Amy Ann Teehee, 34, attempted to turn left into a private drive and hit the Duncan vehicle. Teehee was taken to Sparks Hospital and treated for leg injuries and released. The crash was reported at 9:03 p.m. Saturday. The cause of the crash is listed as an improper left turn. It was investigated by OHP Trooper Adam Wood.
