A woman arrested this week on drug possession charges allegedly told investigators she was involved with drugs to help pay her college tuition. Samantha Rae Pritchett, 22, was arrested Wednesday for trafficking a controlled drug and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Authorities seized 2 pounds of marijuana and more than 70 “ecstasy” pills when they served a search warrant on Pritchett’s home on the northwest side of Tahlequah. Personnel from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, District 27 Drug Task Force and Tahlequah Police Department were involved. An investigator said when law enforcement agencies received information about possible drug activity at the residence, they started an investigation that led to Pritchett’s arrest and seizure of the contraband. A 1999 Chevrolet Malibu was also seized at the time of Pritchett’s arrest. Her bond has been set at $50,000 by Special District Judge Holli Wells. Officers arrested Jesse Reamy, 22, Thursday afternoon on the same charges as a result of the same investigation. Cherokee County Court records show Reamy is on a deferred judgment on a burglary charge, filed following an investigation by Tahlequah police.
