CATOOSA – A Westville trucker was listed in serious condition Wednesday morning in a Tulsa hospital after being involved in a crash on Interstate 44.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports Billy Ray Collins, 31, suffered massive back injuries and was being treated at St. Francis Hospital. He was driving a 2005 Peterbilt semi-tanker tractor trailer.
Collins’ truck was westbound on I-44 when it hit a 1995 Geo Prism driven by Stacy Donise Collins, 41. Ms. Collins’ vehicle had been disabled in the inside lane from a previous collision.
Ms. Collins was taken by air ambulance to St. Francis Hospital, where she is listed in critical condition with massive multiple injuries. Reports state she was ejected 181 feet from her vehicle, coming to rest in the middle of the eastbound lanes of I-44.
The crash was reported at 2:14 a.m. 365 feet, east of Catoosa. It was investigated by OHP Trooper Ron Hamilton, assisted by Shiloh Hall, Darrick Eades, Mark Kuhn and Darrin Rose and Lt. Derek Burton.
