Property forfeited

— Property allegedly used by a Hulbert woman to manufacture counterfeit checks was forfeited to the state Tuesday afternoon.
Special District Judge Sandy Crosslin signed an order forfeiting $1,700 in currency, a Gateway computer, monitor and keyboard, Logitech web cam and mouse, Canon printer, three rolls of postage stamps, Quicken software, a box of yellow and blue blank checks, United Parcel Service shipping supply boxes, UPS address forms and UPS supply boxes.
The forfeiture order states Debra K. Moss, 912 Parker Circle, denies liability, but stipulates to the agreement in accordance with an agreement with prosecutors.
Notice of the seizure and intended forfeiture was filed Tuesday afternoon.
Moss, 51, was charged earlier Tuesday with a misdemeanor count of violation of the trademark anti counterfeiting act. Prosecutors allege she had numerous checks on July 14 that were fraudulently made to look like they were drawn on the Bank of Wells Fargo.
District 27 Drug Task Force agents investigated the counterfeit check making scheme, records show.
Assistant District Attorney Josh King is prosecuting the case.
