Cherokee County sheriff’s deputies are continuing their investigation into an alleged drive-by shooting.
Marcos Ibarra filed a report on the incident, but no one was inside the house at the time. The house had more than 40 shotgun birdshot holes. One pellet found near the house was seized as evidence.
Sheriff’s Deputy Jim Flores’ report states he found damage to a vehicle windshield, and Ibarra told him the suspect in the shooting also damaged the window.
While taking the report about the shooting, Flores learned of a burned vehicle near Hulbert. Three men were observed walking away from the vehicle with a case of beer. The vehicle matched the description of one that had been involved in a drive-by shooting last weekend at the Armory Municipal Center.
Sheriff’s Deputy James Brown found a semi-automatic pistol and a box of ammunition were found in the vehicle.
The suspects in the drive-by shooting in the city are the same men allegedly responsible for the incident at the residence west of Tahlequah.
