STILWELL – A Stilwell High School teacher is free on a $100,000 bond after being charged with three counts of second-degree rape and a count of sexual battery.
Assistant District Attorney Shannon Otteson, the prosecutor in the case, said Sean Lee Catron faces a Nov. 12 initial arraignment before Associate District Judge Liz Brown. Otteson said the charges are the result of an investigation by Stilwell police that started after one of the victims told a parent.
The charges involve two victims and the incidents allegedly occurred during the current school year. Some allegedly happened on school property and others happened at Catron’s home, Otteson said.
She said the victims are Stilwell High School students.
Otteson was unsure of Catron’s current employment status, but was working as a biology teacher at the time of the alleged incident. She also said she knew Catron, 38, was suspended from his job prior to charges being filed.
A preliminary hearing will be set at a later date.
Local attorney Tim Baker represents Catron in the criminal case and the employment case before the Stilwell School Board.
Lloyd Cole is the school district’s attorney.
