MULDROW – A Muldrow man was arrested Friday on drug and firearms charges as part of an interagency investigation by the District 27 Drug Task Force, Sequoyah County Sheriff’s Office and Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Justin Earl Mitchell, 24, was booked into the Sequoyah County Jail for manufacturing a controlled drug, possession of controlled drug, possession of firearm with altered or removed serial number, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of paraphernalia. He was later released on a $25,000 bond.
The charges are the result of a search warrant served on Mitchell’s home north of Muldrow. Chemicals and equipment commonly associated with the manufacture of controlled drugs were found along with items of paraphernalia and firearms. A DTF spokesman said the task force is seeing a return and sharp increase in the number of clandestine labs.
