Merchants have gifts galore for her

The final in a three-part Christmas gift-giving series

TAHLEQUAH — With about a week left to shop for Christmas gifts, there’s no better time to look for that perfect gift for her.

Area merchants are stocked and ready to help, and staff at Meigs Jewelry can help shoppers find just the right “bling” for the special women in their lives.

“Of course, the Pandora bracelets are always a good choice,” said Brandon Hooper, sales associate at Meigs. “The bracelets start at $65, and charms run $25 and up, with the average charm costing about $45. The big sellers right now are winter-themed charms and pave - or sparkly - charms.”

Meigs also offers a trade up program for diamond studs.

“If you purchase a quarter-carat set of studs and say, six months later you’d like to get half-carat studs, the purchase price of the quarter-carat studs will be discounted from the larger size,” said Hooper. “It’s a very popular program.”

Hooper indicated the Toy watches from Italy are also a big hit this year.

“They come in all kinds of colors and designs,” said Hooper. “Other popular items include the inside-outside earrings. These are hoop earrings with diamonds on the inside and outside of the hoops, so they sparkle from all angles. Our heartbeat collection is also popular. These are necklaces with diamonds on a pivot in the center. When you move, the diamonds shimmer.”

Obsession Boutique also offers quite a selection for women, ranging from gadgetry to bling.

“We have the Smartglass for smartphones,” said Michelle Schwegler, sales clerk. “We also have a lot of infinity scarves, as well as hats and jewelry. Oh, and we have some really cute patterned leggings that are really popular.”

Tribal cardigans are also available at Obsession, along with a new shipment of jewelry.

Jean Ryals, owner of Everything Under the Sun, said she’s carrying a personalization line of drinkware that’s selling like hotcakes.

“This personalized line includes tumblers, travel mugs and wine glasses, all of which are reasonably priced,” said Ryals. “We just got eight new patterns in the wine glasses, and they can be personalized in like five minutes.”

Other popular items at the shop include the DaVinci line of jewelry, which includes stackable rings and beaded bracelets, similar to Pandora.

“If you buy seven beads, you get the bracelet free,” said Ryals. “All are interchangeable and come with a lifetime warranty.”

Thanks to Cook’s Companion, gifts for the home gourmet are easily attained.

“When it comes to gourmet foods, we have a wide and varied selection, including jellies, jams, etc.,” said owner Dina Lippert.

Lippert also carries a wide variety of cooking and bakeware.

“Some of our favorites include the Charles Viancin silicone lids,” said Lippert. “They adhere to anything. You can put them in the freezer, oven and microwave. Also we have Lekue all-silicone cookware and bakeware. Again, it’s platinum silicone, BPA-free, and goes from the freezer to the over to the microwave to the dishwasher.”

Bakers won’t want to miss out on Cook’s Companion USA pans.

“These are made in the U.S., and are aluminum and steel,” said Lippert.
