TAHLEQUAH — Two area men have been charged after they allegedly robbed a Tahlequah man at knife point earlier this month.

Mohawk Beaver, 19, of Cookson, and 28-year-old Jeremy L. Poafpybitty, of Bunch, are each charged with robbery by force or fear and first-degree burglary.

According to District 27 prosecutors, Beaver and Poafpybitty broke into the home of Paul Jones on Nov. 1, threatened him with a knife, and stole some of his property. Prosecutors say the men threatened to harm Jones if he resisted.

Tahlequah Police Officer Pam Bell was dispatched late Nov. 1 to Jones’ home, where he learned the suspects had stolen a stereo speaker before fleeing in a car.

Court records show Beaver has previously been charged with larceny from a retailer, domestic abuse-assault and battery, and public intoxication in Cherokee County

Poafpybitty has former charges including aggravated assault and battery, outraging public decency, possession of drug paraphernalia, knowingly concealing stolen property, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and public intoxication.
