Joe Bunch recently announced his candidacy for assistant chief of the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians.
Bunch and wife Karen live in the Goingsnake District. The couple have two adult children.
Bunch has 30 years of experience in tribal service, and a master’s degree in industrial management. According to his election platform, Bunch will look to emphasize accountability in tribal government, as well as economic expansion.
“I envision our youth as our key to the future,” said Bunch. “With the monumental land trust decision comes a new dimension, and an opportunity for the United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians. We need someone to bring our tribe to that level, without losing sight of our past history, but moving forward. We have many challenges ahead of us, and with your vote, we will meet those challenges together.”
The United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians election is set for Monday, Nov. 5.
