TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah city councilors will mull a request Monday night to have a contractor dispose of this large pile of brush behind the street department facility. According to a proposal submitted by Ward 1 Councilor Diane Weston, cost of removing the brush through a private contractor could top $20,000. Weston’s supporting material, which was provided to other councilors, suggests it is “imperative” the brush be removed as soon as possible “to reduce the possibility of imposed fines for non-compliance” of regulations from the Department of Environmental Quality.
