Fire destroys trailer home Wednesday

TAHLEQUAH — Fire destroyed a trailer home early Wednesday morning in the 900 block of West Fox Street.

Tahlequah Fire Department Capt. Casey Baker said 18 firefighters responded to the scene at 3:50 a.m. Firefighters were initially told there could be three people inside the home, which was fully engulfed in flames. A search was conducted, and responders determined everyone had escaped from the home.

After they arrived on scene, firefighters began a defensive attack to protect neighboring homes.

Several thousand gallons of water were used to extinguish the blaze. Firefighters were on the scene until 6:15 a.m.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
