Grand jury indicts Stilwell man in kidnapping case

MUSKOGEE — A federal grand jury has indicted a Stilwell man for kidnapping and brandishing a firearm during a crime.

Jeremy Dale Jones, 40, allegedly kidnapped and confined a victim, identified by the initials of B.D., in Indian Country. Jones also is accused of brandishing, carrying and using two handguns and a rifle during the crime.

Charges arose after an investigation by the Cherokee Nation Marshal Service, Adair County Sheriff’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The allegations occurred on or about March 20, 2014, court documents allege.

The charges against Jones are punishable by up to life in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

U.S. Attorney Mark Green’s Office announced the results of April’s federal grand jury Tuesday.
