TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police arrested a local woman Thursday afternoon after a hit-and-run crash on Park Hill Road.

Victoria D. James, 37, of Tahlequah, was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash, following too closely, and driving while revoked.

Tahlequah Police Lt. Billy Dowling said James had allegedly been following another vehicle, driven by Debrah Clinton, of Cookson, on Park Hill Road when she collided with Clinton’s vehicle near Monroe Street.

James allegedly left the scene of the crash when Clinton asked for her insurance information and told James she was calling police.

Clinton was transported to a local hospital to be treated for neck and back injuries.

Dowling later located and stopped James, who was driving near her residence on South 523 Road.

Dowling said James previously had her driver’s license revoked after an arrest for driving under the influence in 2009.
