LOCUST GROVE — Prosecutors have formally filed charges against two Locust Grove men who were caught earlier this month burglarizing a home and were held at gunpoint until deputies arrived.

Cammron McAlvain, 18, and Cheyenne Nichols, 21, are both charged with second-degree burglary and public intoxication. Nichols is also charged with resisting an officer.

Sheriff’s Deputy Raymond Hendricks said a couple arrived at home and found the two Locust Grove men inside a vehicle in their driveway.

According to the property owners, the two had taken several firearms and saddles.

The husband then held the suspects at gunpoint while deputies were responding.

McAlvain allegedly said he and Nichols had purchased the items, but later said they had taken the items and were returning them.

According to deputies, McAlvain also allegedly admitted he had been snorting Xanax.

Deputies said they attempted to arrest Nichols and he fought with them.

Both were booked into jail and released on $7,500 bonds.
