KEYS — KEYS – During its regular meeting Thursday, the Keys Board of Education approved a series of routine measures, including contracts and purchase orders.

Members unanimously approved planned fundraisers for the basketball teams and revisions to district teacher evaluation policy to conform to guidelines set by the Oklahoma Department of Education.

Also approved unanimously were purchase orders and warrants from the general fund, child nutrition fund and building fund, as were contracts for career and technical education programs for fiscal year 2014.

A resolution was unanimously passed calling for a school board election for the fourth seat. Bids were accepted on two school buses declared surplus, but bidding will remain open for a surplus portable building dating to 1991.

The report of Superintendent Billie Jordan included a presentation on the district’s state report cards and test scores, and plans outlining a new band room that would also serve as a safe room during dangerous weather.

The Keys School Board next meets on Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. in the Keys High School library.
