A Stilwell woman arrested on drug-related charges at a Tahlequah motel in March has pleaded guilty and received a suspended sentence.
Amber Renee Killer, 25, was charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance. In exchange for her guilty plea, Killer was given a five-year suspended sentence, fines and other costs. She will also be under supervision of the District Attorney’s Office.
Killer has been released to Adair County authorities, who had a hold on her for an unrelated case. She was ordered to check back in with Cherokee County authorities within 48 hours of her release from Adair County.
Investigators with the Tahlequah Police Department received an anonymous tip in March that Killer – who was wanted out of Adair County – was in a room at the Super Inn and Suites, near Downing and the bypass.
When authorities arrived at the motel room, they found four people, including Killer, inside. She allegedly gave police a false name and lied about who had rented the room. Officers said they found a small amount of marijuana and a smoking device in the room.
During a subsequent search, conducted after a warrant was granted, authorities said they found multiple smoking devices and a white, crystal-like substance.
In Killer’s purse, authorities said they found snorting straws and a small bag containing a white, powdery substance that was later determined to be methamphetamine.
