Two juveniles are facing criminal charges after they allegedly stole seven firearms from a Cherokee County man last week and swapped them for an old truck.
Cherokee County sheriff’s investigators said Dale Preston’s guns were stolen from his home. The stolen guns included a 30-30 Marlin 336, a Winchester model 94, a Henry Big Boy .357, a Puma model 92 .357, a Smith & Wesson 15-22 .22 long rifle, a Remington 870, and an AR-15 Doublestar.
After Preston filed a report, Deputy Bob Lewandowski garnered information that a couple of juveniles were responsible for the theft.
Those juveniles later admitted they had taken the guns, according to investigators, and had traded the firearms for an old truck.
Lewandowski and Sheriff’s Capt. Bob Sanders have been working on the case and discovered four of the guns at a shop in Tulsa. Investigators are still looking for the other three guns.
Anyone with information about the stolen guns is asked to call the sheriff’s office at (918) 456-2583.
