Two men facing kidnapping and attempted robbery charges are tentatively set for jury trial next month.
Bobby Gene Bechtol, 43, of Tahlequah, and Harley Wayne Scott, 23, of Fort Gibson, are each charged with two counts of attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon and two counts of kidnapping.
A judge has set their cases for jury trial the week of Jan. 22, 2013.
Bechtol and Scott allegedly kept two girls inside a home with a knife last April, and made the girls undress to prove they didn’t have any money.
The two teenaged female victims reportedly owed the men a small amount of money – one report indicates around $20 – and Bechtol and Scott wanted to collect. The teens told the men they didn’t have the money, according to police, but the two men didn’t believe them and held them against their will while trying to find the money.
One girl was eventually able to leave the house and flag down a police officer.
Bechtol was given a $50,000 bond while Scott was given a $40,000 bond.
Both pleaded not guilty to the charges.
