New details released in teen sex abuse case

TAHLEQUAH — Court documents reveal new information in the case of a Michigan man arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl.

Christopher Dale Adams, 27, was arrested in late April at a motel in Wagoner. Authorities said Adams had driven to Oklahoma several times to have sex with the teen. After details of the relationship came to light, investigators began trying to lure Adams back to Oklahoma.

An arrest affidavit alleges the 13-year-old girl’s adoptive mother dropped the girl off at Sequoyah State Park to spend time with Adams. The woman also allegedly admitted she picked up the tab for Adams to travel to Oklahoma, and paid for his motel room several times.

Investigators learned in late April that the woman had sent Adams $150 and made reservations for him at a motel in Wagoner. Authorities were told Adams was on his way to Oklahoma, so they set up a sting and arrested him on April 25.

Receipts collected during the investigation led authorities to believe Adams stayed in Wagoner Oct. 24-27, 2012; at the lodge in Sequoyah State Park from Jan. 5-8 and again Jan. 17-21; and again at the lodge from March 5-7, before checking into another room March 7-9.

Each receipt is either in Adams’ name or the name of teen’s adoptive mother, investigators said.

The teen told authorities she and Adams had intercourse during each of his visits to Oklahoma, the affidavit says.

No charges have been filed against the teen’s adoptive mother, but the investigation is ongoing.

Adams is being held in jail on a $100,000 bond for five counts of first-degree rape and five counts of forcible sodomy. He has allegedly confessed to some, but not all, of the accusations.
