The agenda for Monday night’s special city council meeting is filled with talk of the recent bond issue, proposed ordinances, budget matters for the next fiscal year, and personnel issues.
The meeting will kick off at 7 p.m. at city hall with a public hearing on the proposed budget for 2013-’14. Later in the meeting, Tahlequah Mayor Jason Nichols will present the proposed budget for discussion among councilors.
Northeastern State University President Steve Turner will make a presentation on the progress and plans for the university’s new multipurpose event center. A portion of the city’s recent bond issue will help construct a community center addition to the center.
Councilors will then have the opportunity to continue discussion on a proposed ordinance that would regulate yard waste disposal in the city. The council will also look at a commercial-landscaping ordinance, and an ordinance that would establish rules for placement and enclosure of Dumpsters.
