Local man pleads in child sex abuse case

Staff Writer

TAHLEQUAH — A Tahlequah man accused of child sexual abuse has accepted a plea agreement with prosecutors for a 20-year sentence.

William Dean Anson, 48, pleaded guilty and admitted in court documents that he “improperly touched” the victim “in a sexual manner.”

Anson’s 20-year sentence includes 10 years suspended with supervised probation by the Department of Corrections. He will also be required to register as a sex offender.

Court documents indicate investigators conducted a forensic interview with a 14-year-old girl in December 2011 and were told Anson had touched her private parts and chest and placed his genitals on her.

Anson at first denied the incident, but eventually admitted to investigators he’d inappropriately touched the girl, according to court documents.
