Myrtle Juanita Harlow
TAHLEQUAH – Services for Myrtle Juanita (New) Harlow, 77, will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9, at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Buddy Hunt presiding. Interment will follow at Tahlequah City Cemetery under the care of Green Country Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at tahlequahfuneral.com.
Myrtle was born in Tulsa on Dec. 14, 1934, to Loren Bruner and Bertha New. She went to be with her Lord on Nov. 6, 2012.
On Sept. 1, 1953, she married Onnie Harlow. In 1955 they moved to Eldon, and for 15 years owned and operated Harlow's Grocery, and established the Tahlequah Lime and Fertilizer Co. In 1970 they moved north of Tahlequah where they had a commercial strawberry farm and raised cattle. During that time they purchased the Cycle City Motorcycle Co.
Myrtle was a member of the First Baptist Church of Tahlequah and was a devoted witness for the Lord. She was the former site manager of the Tahlequah Senior Citizen Center. She enjoyed cooking, doing ceramics, traveling, reading, flower arranging, cake decorating, going to yard sales and spending time with her family.
Myrtle was proceeded in death by her husband, Onnie, and both parents.
Keeping Myrtle alive in their memories are her children, Juanita Nottingham (Bill) of Tahlequah, Tammy Phillips of Tahlequah, Patti Morton (Owen) of Tahlequah, Robert Harlow (Sandra) of Tahlequah, Jim Harlow of Kansas City, Mo., Lucretia Harlow of Tahlequah, Michael Harlow (Sabrina) of Sapulpa, and Chad Harlow (Jennifer) of Tahlequah.
Myrtle is also survived by 16 grandchildren, Chris Nottingham, Cody Nottingham (Candace), Ceyeli Nottingham Corbett (Ben), Brandy Phillips, Nicki Barnes Scott (Justin), Blake Barnes (Kristen), Jake Barnes (Michelle), Austin Morton (Ashley), Andi Morton Mayfield (Matt), Jimmie Don Harlow, Josh Reasor, Jacob Reasor (Shantana), Adam Reasor (Shelby), Hannah Harlow, Noah Harlow and Gracie Harlow.
She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, Colby Nottingham, Hayden Nottingham, Wyatt Nottingham, Dylan Nottingham, London Scott, Pepper Scott, Paisley Barnes, Lyla Barnes, Brylee Barnes, Cy Morton, Jacob Reasor, Sasha Sevenstar and Haley Harlow.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Audie Shankle and her Sunday school class. Also left to cherish her memory are her many special friends.
The family asks that those wishing to send an expression of sympathy to please consider making a donation in Myrtle's name, in honor of her great-granddaughter, Pepper Scott, to the Little Light House in Tulsa, a center for Downs Syndrome.
