Woman critical in Tulsa hospital after Friday auto accident


TAHLEQUAH — A woman is in critical condition at a Tulsa hospital after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of West Allen Road and North Rice Road on Friday.

Patricia Thompson was lifeflighted by Eagle Med to St. Francis Hospital after sustaining head and arm injuries in the accident, which occured at 9:46 p.m.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol report states the accident occured when a 2001 Chevrolet driven by Eric Huff, 37, of Tahlequah failed to yield at a stop sign and was struck by a 2002 Chrysler driven by Thompson. Huff’s vehicle was northbound on Rice and Thompson’s was westbound on Allen.

Thompson was pinned for about 10 minutes before being extricated by the Tahlequah Fire Department. Seatbelts were in use by both drivers and the airbags were deployed in Thompson’s vehicle.

The report did not mention any injuries to Huff. Alcohol was not cited as a factor in the accident.
