TAHLEQUAH — Tahlequah police on Wednesday released the name of a man found dead Tuesday afternoon inside an abandoned building.

Police detectives said the body of Jason Evan Murphy, 26, was sent to the state’s office of the medical examiner.

A manner of death has not been determined, but detectives said there were no obvious signs of foul play.

Officers responded to Water Avenue just before 2 p.m. when the body was found inside an abandoned building, which had previously been used as a radiator business.

A caller told dispatchers he found Murphy unresponsive in the building.

He then began CPR with assistance from dispatchers, but Murphy was pronounced dead at the scene when medics arrived.

Detectives responded to photograph the scene and investigate the death.
