Area man jailed for picking fight, hurting others

Staff Writer

TAHLEQUAH — Sheriff’s deputies say a Park Hill man was arrested this week after starting a fight and injuring several people.

Jerry Dale Wing, 34, was booked into the Cherokee County Detention Center for two counts of domestic assault and battery, interfering with an emergency call, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Bond was set at $3,000, booking records show, and Jerry Wing remained in jail Wednesday.

According to Sheriff’s Deputy Daniel Pruitt, officers responded to Wagon Wheel Road in Tenkiller Harbor after Jerry Wing assaulted several people.

Tiffany Wing told deputies she and Jerry Wing were in an argument, and when she tried to call 911, Jerry Wing slapped her across the face.

After she had been hit, her boyfriend, Carl Childress, grabbed an ashtray and struck Jerry Wing in the head. Childress and Jerry Wing began fighting until Tiffany Wing’s father, Michael Wing, separated them.

Jerry Wing then allegedly grabbed a rock and threw it at Michael Wing, so Michael Wing grabbed a baseball bat to defend himself.

Jerry Wing later seized a stick and popped Carl Childress in the forehead, leaving a large gash.

Pruitt’s report indicates Childress was checked by medics and decided to go the hospital on his own. Medics also checked Jerry Wing for a small cut on his head, but he refused treatment.

Deputies photographed injuries to the alleged victims, and said Jerry Wing would not allow deputies to photograph his injuries. Jerry

Wing also allegedly refused to write out his own statement.
