Well, not my place because I work during the day. But, My Place Barbecue will put a meal in front of you that hits the spot and will cure any craving you’ve got for barbecue. The restaurant is housed in the old Round Up Club building, 1403 S. Park Hill Road. In addition to the sumptuous menu offerings, the restaurant walls feature a sign showing some barbecue prices from the past and the walls and rafters are full of stuffed animals, but they’re not the kind you’d want to take down and play with. My Place features something for all sizes of appetites. Those with the heartiest may want to take advantage of a buffet that offers ribs, pork loin, hot links, chopped beef, tater tots and other veggies including fried okra and sweet corn nuggets. Those who are not so hungry can take advantage of a salad bar or just have a sandwich. Those are available with pork loin, sliced and chopped beef, bologna, chicken fried steak and grilled chicken breast for those with healthy intentions. Dinners are available with the same meat offerings and hot links (hot or mild) or a combination plate that gives you the choice of sliced or chopped beer, a hot link and two ribs. My Place even offers a full order and half order of ribs only that they serve with bread. Dinners come with a pair of sides. If I’m not sampling all the buffet has to offer, I usually settle on a rib plate with fries and beans. The size of your appetite corresponds to the amount you’ll need to pay. Meals are fairly priced for the amount and quality of food. You can also take advantage of three flavors of sauce; sweet, mild or hot. My Place has plenty of room inside to let you and a group eat in their dining room or you can come inside and order a meal to go or pull up to their drive-through window. Catering’s also available. The food is reasonably priced and service is fast and friendly so run by My Place Barbecue or call 456-5888 and they can have it ready when you get there. They’re open Monday-Saturday.
