A Cherokee County sheriff’s investigator said Thursday afternoon former employees of a local business devised a scheme to steal large sums of money from their employer.
Investigator Becky Thompson said owners of Twin Cities Ready Mix contacted the sheriff’s office Monday. The employees allegedly responsible are no longer working for the company, but were when the money was taken.
“All the employees involved have been replaced,” she said.
Thompson did not disclose the amount of money taken or methods used to take it. No arrests have been made, but the investigation continues.
The money was allegedly taken over an extended period of time and involved the sale of material. Thompson is working with Cherokee Nation marshals on the case.
