Published September 04, 2008 12:20 pm - Probe closes book on burglary rash By BOB GIBBINS TAHLEQUAH DAILY PRESS — Quick work by Tahlequah police Wednesday led to the arrest of a Tahlequah man and cleared several vehicle burglaries off the books.
Tahlequah Police Detective Lt. Dale Glory said Robert Finch was arrested on charges of larceny of a motor vehicle, second-degree burglary, knowingly concealing stolen property and burglary of an auto. Glory said as many as four auto burglaries were solved with Finch’s arrest. “Officer Billy Dowling and Lt. David Huffman did a great job on this case,” Glory said. “This was some good police work.” Glory said he and fellow Detectives Chris Boals and Jeff Haney were also part of the investigation. Finch allegedly broke into the Outlet Store on South Muskogee and took a truck belonging to the business to haul items away taken from the store. Stereos, tools, an iPod, speakers and other items were recovered. “We have some property we haven’t matched with an owner,” Glory said. “If some people living in the Pamela Street area are missing items, they can contact us.” He said the person must be able to identify the missing property before anything will be released. The property was taken to another person’s residence, but Glory said the other individual was not involved. He said Finch has given law enforcement a statement concerning the burglaries. The investigation is still ongoing. Formal charges are expected to be filed in district court against Finch, on whom Associate District Judge Mark Dobbins set a $20,000 bond.
