NSU lands 4 WGCA scholar-athletes

Northeastern State had four women’s golfers named to the 2014 Women’s Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) All-American Scholars Division II team, the organization announced Wednesday.

Junior Arizona Chin, sophomore Kayla Schroeder, freshman Baylee Price, and former RiverHawk Sofia Castiello were all bestowed the honor. This was the first WGCA academic accolade for all four members of the team. They were all four recently named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll, while Chin, Price and Castiello were honored as MIAA Scholar-Athletes.

The WGCA All-American Scholars for NCAA Division I, II & III were announced with a total of 644 women’s collegiate golfers recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50.
