BLOG: Inside the MIAA (week of Feb. 20)

With two weeks left in the regular season, here's where things stand in the Mid-America Intercollegeiate Athletics Association.



Lewis lands accolade: Central Missouri’s BreAnna Lewis was named the MIAA Women’s Basketball Athlete of the Week for her performances last week. The 5-foot-7 junior guard averaged drained 11 3-pointers in the Jennies’ two wins over Lindenwood and Lincoln.

Jockeying for position: With only two weeks left in the regular season, the standings are as uncertain as ever. Seven teams could are battling for the four first-round byes in the MIAA Tournament, and Washburn, Central Missouri and Emporia State are competing for the top spot.

Men: Fort Hays State at Washburn, Thursday

Could be Fort Hays last significant challenge of the regular season.

Women: Fort Hays State at Washburn, Thursday

Fort Hays State could help out every other team and try and bring Washburn back to the pack with less than a handful of games left in the regular season.
