Tough slate

As expected, NSU will have another tough schedule in 2013. On Monday, the American Football Coaches Association released its preseason Division II poll.

Six of NSU’s opponents were either in the top 25 or receiving votes: Northwest Missouri State (No. 3), Missouri Western (No. 6), Pittsburg State (No. 21), Emporia State (receiving votes), Washburn (receiving votes), Central Missouri (receiving votes).

The RiverHawks will open the season at Pittsburg State on Sept. 7.
